Trekking Trip to Pelepah Falls aka Lombong Waterfalls

I will be taking a break and go trekking at the Pelepah/Lombong Waterfalls near Kota Tinggi Waterfalls Resort next weekend.

To reach the trail to the waterfalls, we will have to take a bus to Johor Bahru Larkin Bus Terminal, then from JB Larkin take a bus to Kota Tinggi Bus Station and charter a taxi to Kota Tinggi Waterfalls Resort. Well that is the plan. I will have more information when I go and find out.

Meanwhile, there is preparation and shopping to be done.

I'll need a good sturdy backpack. I will probably go to Golden Mile Food Centre at Beach Road and Peninsula Plaza to shop for a comfortable lightweight backpack that is big enough to hold the 6-men tent, food and cooking pots for our dinner up at the summit.

Yes, we are going camp at the summit and spend a night there - an early Christmas celebration.

I was told there is a stream near the campsite and it is a nice place to enjoy the stars for city dwellers from Singapore - provided the sky clear.

Express Bus from Penang to Kuala Lumpur

There are many express bus companies that operate the Sungai Nibong Bus Terminal, Penang to Kuala Lumpur route, however, not many express buses depart from Georgetown. If I were to take the express bus from Sungai Nibong, I would have to incur additional cost and time. Eventually, I found a bus travel company that picked up passengers at Komtar, located about 5-minute taxi ride from my hotel. The pick-up point is at street level and a short distance from Maybank Komtar. See the location map below. I booked the Penang to Kuala Lumpur bus ticket from New Asian Travel (aka Newsia Express) . The one-way bus ticket from Komtar to TBS costed MYR38. The express bus was a 27-seater KPB Signature Class. The seats were spacious and interior was clean and tidy because no food and drink were allowed onboard. After departing from Komtar, the bus made a stop at Sungei Nibong to pick up other passengers before proceeding to Kuala Lumpur (Terminal Bersepadu Selatan). The entire journe...
